Banuary

So, January is almost over and week 5 of Enrico’s Hitlist is already sharpening up. The so called dry month or by a few friends kindly nick named ‘Banuary’ is coming to an end and I am very proud to announce that I have not had a single drop of alcohol over the past 31 days! I must admit, that I was tempted every now and then and most recently last Friday when a few mates were over at my place not finishing the bottle of red wine. Funny enough the bottle is still there – and half full of course. I could take a picture to give you some evidence but I think you have to take my word as most of you probably think I did drink it all and just bought a new one (which I did not!).

A few other things, besides my charts are sharpening up as well, such as me signing up to finally start studying! Yes I am very excited that I have enrolled and to get my first course book delivered. According to the UPS tracker it should be with me tomorrow. Last known location was Castle Donnington in the United Kingdom. However it is still a mystery to me how UPS logistics works, as according to the website the book (I don’t know if it’s just a monster book or more than one!) has been dispatched last night in Montreal and before reaching Philly made it’s way to Louisville in Kentucky which – what I found out today – is one of this parcel delivery company’s major hubs. I will keep you posted if I get it delivered successfully!

I have also finally decided on the cities I am going to visit in May whilst I’m going to be in the United States! It is definitely going to be an adventurous journey, travelling through New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, San Diego and Miami. I am sure you can sense that I am very excited about it. On that note one suggestion which has been brought forward to me was to write more about my very own travel experiences. Is this something (besides my charts) you’d be interested in? I might go and try to start a poll about it and see what the results are going to be and of course will let you know the outcome! Suggestions as usual to my email please: ehcharts@icloud.com.

And now back to some music chart business! I am going to present you some chart breakers from previous years and also would like to show you a guaranteed Re-Entry for this weeks Top 20 (officially to be announced on Sunday the 3rd of February!). And for those who are interested in how songs enter my Hitlist: just be patient. It will be revealed at some point!

In Week Number 5 of 2011 Norway’s Stella Mwangi entered Enrico’s Hitlist with her Eurovision Entry ‘Haba Haba’. The live performance in the Semi-Final was absolutely rubbish and Stella did not advance into the final in Dusseldorf/Germany. The early draw (she was number 1 in that Semi-Final) probably didn’t help her either besides the poorly singing and dancing on stage. Regardless of that performance, the song became a massive hit in Enrico’s Hitlist. Not only has it spent 8 weeks at Number 1, it also narrowly kept Lady Gaga’s ‘The Edge Of Glory’ at bay in the year end charts with a very small lead of 34 points! So far it has spent 65 weeks in total in my charts and is currently ranked as All Time Number 10!

For the next song we even have to look back a bit further. In 2005 Australian phenomenon Kylie Minogue managed to sneak onto Number 1 for the very first time in my charts with her famous song ‘I Believe In You’. She even managed a minor Re-Entry in last years charts with her Abbey Road Sessions version of this tune. But compared to ‘Haba Haba’ this song looks more like a One Hit Wonder as up until today it has only spent 4 weeks in total in my Top 20 and is only ranked All Time Number 575.

And now to the song which will definitely re-enter my Top 20 this week! It is ‘Marley’s Chain’s’ by Honey Rider. I don’t want to bore you with dry facts so I will keep it short and simple so you can enjoy this magnificent song. But I want to tell you, that so far it has scored 79 points over 10 weeks and is at Number 608 out of 1875 songs listed. Enjoy! x

Phew. The question this week is: where to start?! Well you might spot the tragic exit of Lady Gaga’s ‘The Edge Of Glory’ and the fittingly ‘Goodbye Cruel World’ by Shakespear Sister entering this weeks charts at Number 20. However, after a staggering long run of 91 continuos weeks steam simply ran out. Since her first appearance on the 9th of May in 2011 she managed to stay an incredible 19 (!) weeks in total on top of Enrico’s Hitlist. 2158 points have now catapulted her to All Time Number 2.

And oh my god what happened at the top?! Hayden Panettiere has already been overtaken very last minute by Krista Siegfrid’s ‘Marry Me’ which will represent Finland at this years Eurovision Song Contest! Check out this great song and the awesome jury performance and let me know what you think about the first Finish Eurovision Entry to top my charts.

9 new entries this week might also suggest that I had nothing better to do than listening to music all week and weekend. But you’re wrong! Besides finishing my first lesson of distance learning (and I’m learning quite a lot) I also finally unpacked my two remaining huge boxes of DVD’s and books and got 5 – tough – swim sessions in as well! I guess I just learned how to manage my time properly and still enjoy the discovery of great new tunes like Nicole Scherzingers ‘Boomerang’ which became her latest entry after being last seen with ‘Try With Me’ back in 2011! After all the excitement this week I’m now ready to finish watching the BAFTA’s and hop into bed!

Don’t expect too much today – I am pretty tired and since I am becoming busier studying I don’t have much time anymore to draft nice articles whilst on the tube to and from swim training – so thanks for understanding!

One reason for me being tired though is that I probably still feel all the wine I drank on Monday evening. Me and a few colleagues were invited by ‘The Landmark’ which is a 5 Star luxury hotel in the city of London near Marylebone station. I do think that before I passed out – in one of the biggest beds I ever slept and rooms I ever stayed in – I must have had at least two bottles of red wine all by myself. But I just couldn’t say no to that especially since it was free. And please don’t tell me you would have said no!

One thing however I’d like to happily announce today is that I had a view from someone in China on my blog which is pretty awesome! The asian powerhouse obviously has no problem with me reporting about music, charts, travelling, Eurovision etc. and therefore hasn’t censored or even blocked (yet) this lovely website. I wonder if they would if I’d post some half naked pictures of some photo shoots I previously did! Maybe I’ll change my header picture to the Great Wall of China again to which I’ve been to last November to please the worlds most populous country.

Since it is going to be Valentines Day tomorrow I have decided to look back at few songs which have entered my charts on that particular day. First one up is ‘You Can’t Hurry Love’ (how fittingly) by the Supremes which entered Enrico’s Top 20 back in 2011. All Time Rank 687 means at the moment the song scored 68 points and has spent 5 weeks in total in the charts. Unfortunately I couldn’t find a proper video, but it’s more about the song anyway ;)

Second one up for this week has been ‘slightly’ more successful compared to ‘You Can’t Hurry Love’. Since it entered the charts on the 14th of February in 2005 ‘One Night In Heaven’ by M People has scored a massive 2127 points having spent 95 weeks in Enrico’s Hitlist. It is currently ranked All Time Number 3 but out of 282 Number 1′s it is the one which has spent the longest time at the top spot since its first appearance. 21 weeks speaks volumes for it’s popularity in my charts. Needless to mention that it was song of the year in 2005. One of my favourite moments – and you probably going to laugh about it – was when this great tune was played in one of London’s most famous night clubs called Heaven! Got it?! And on this note I’ll leave you with this massive hit and guess see you around on Sunday when Week 7 is going to be published. Thanks for your continuous support. Enrico x

The US TV show Nashville has taken over again and provided Enrico’s Hitlist with its latest Number 1 hit this week! However it is not Hayden Panettiere as you might have thought given the strong placing she had in the past few weeks with ‘Telescope’ (including her Number 1 position in Week 5)!

Lindi Ortegas ‘The Day You Die’ instead stole the show and jumped ahead of Emeli Sandes ‘Next To Me’ in a last minute surge. Contrary to the song title ‘The Day You Die’ is a rather upbeat country tune and I am confident once you start watching and listening to this great video you will be moving to it as well and you might understand why it became Enrico’s fifth Number One hit in 2013!

The Brit Awards left me with another song ‘discovery’ earlier this week. Emeli Sande sang ‘Next To Me’ to finish off the show after having received two prestigious awards. To me it is a newcomer as for some reason I have not heard this remarkable song when it was popular last year in the rest of the world … Ah well, c’est la vie. Besides these new discoveries there was one major trend in this weeks charts: most songs fell in their rankings with ‘Tomorrow’ by Gianluca Bezzina from Malta being the biggest free faller by plummeting eight ranks down from 10 to 18. Another painful drop was for Finish singer Krista Sigfried who dropped five places from 1 to 6! I wonder what’s happening in next weeks charts as we are already approaching March fast and furious. Stay awesome everybody and enjoy this weeks Number 1 & 2 of Enrico’s Hitlist!

As you can see Lindi Ortega managed to hold onto Number 1 position for a second week in a row with her upbeat country song ‘The Day You Die’. Having been in ‘Business’ for two months now I can proudly say that I have reached all the continents on this planet with viewers from 41 countries around the world! For doing this all by myself and without any help I think I have the right to be very proud of my achievement. And I truly believe that it can only get better! And now back to this week’s Hitlist!

A few drop outs this week, but also a few Re-Entry’s – strange ones you might think. I still would like to share with you the two most notable ones. ‘Dance Hall Days’ by Wang Chung first appeared in my Top 20 back in March 2010 after having been featured in an episode of the ABC family drama ‘Brothers & Sisters’. I was able to track down the song thanks to modern technology and a famous application called ‘Shazam’! Since its first entry the song has scored 192 points whilst being in the charts for 11 weeks. Rank 208 in the All-Time Hitlist! Today I saw this video for the very first time and I cannot believe the fashion back in 1984 when this was produced! Try not to laugh too much and enjoy the music.

Another funny video you might like to disregard the fashion in is the one below, where the amazing Celine Dion (yes she is amazing!) is performing ‘Priere Paenne’ live at a concert in Paris back in 1995. The song was then seen in Enrico’s Hitlist ‘only’ six years later. It has spent 17 weeks in the charts since the 8th of January 2001. However, it did not manage to score as many points as Wang Chung and has to sit on position number 249 with a total of 170 points to this day! You might be pleased to know (well I hope my French speaking viewers at least) that this is her most successful one sung in the French language! I still find, that it is an incredible uplifting tune!

Whilst you are all staring at the latest Top 20 of Enrico’s Hitlist I am currently listening to a very cool remix of Boney M’s ‘Rivers Of Babylon’ which was only a minor hit being currently ranked 405th in the All Time charts with 106 points since its first entry back in May 2001. Not sure why I am even telling you this, but I kind of felt like sharing this piece of information.

Back to this weeks charts. You might notice a few new entries. And yes the highest ones are relating to this years Eurovision Song Contest. Ryan Dolan is going to represent the Republic of Ireland with ‘Only Love Survives’ and is this weeks highest debut at position Number 8. I still can’t believe that I am highly likely to miss this years final (to be staged on the 18th of May in Malmo) since I will be New York bound that day. Pretty good song with decent potential to at least reach the final & it is a pretty cool video (which kind of is a bit like David Guetta style).

My charts have also been known for being very ‘international’ and I am pretty much open to all sorts of languages. You might remember an Icelandic song being in the Top 20 a couple of weeks ago?! However, this weeks ‘foreign language price’ goes to Hungary’s Eurovision Entry which entered at Number 9. ‘Kedvesem’ performed by ByeAlex might be as successful as Kati Wolf’s ‘What About My Dreams’ back in 2011 and reach this years final! We shall know more in May.

Other than that you probably have noticed some major movements, like Sam Gray being the biggest free faller with ‘This Girl’ down 11 ranks from 8 to Number 19 or Jo Dee Messina’s massive climb of 14 ranks from 19 up to the 5th position with her country tune ‘Heads Carolina, Tail California’. I am afraid country pop seems to be the leading theme so far this year! But do not fret we’ve only reached March and a lot of things – I am sure about that – will change until Week 52. Feel free to comment about this week’s highest entries or any other songs you like.

Do you remember me complaining last week about the awful water quality of the pool I was training in? Looks like I took away a bloody ear infection from the lovely Queen Mother Sports Centre (QMSC) here in London! It was actually the first one I’ve ever had! And it’s not nice, let me tell you, especially since the ears are kind of responsible for keeping you balanced if you know what I mean. Do not fret though, as I didn’t fall over or walked down the street like an alcoholic. It was however pretty painful to the degree of me not even being able to touch my ear without it hurting. Unfortunately it was so bad, that I had to consult a doctor on Sunday morning at 8am! Lucky for me the practice is literally just a minute walk away! But even him trying to check out my ear was not a pleasant experience. Anyway to calm you all down (for those who were worried about me): the antibiotics (in form of ear drops and additionally some Ibuprofen) did its magic and I think I got rid of it. Went to the pool again yesterday after my little mini-break away from it. And I actually just got home earlier on from another good session this evening. And I am happy to announce that the water quality has much improved.

Perhaps the weather at the moment isn’t very supportive to the circumstances of the pool condition last week either, as it seems winter is back in the United Kingdom! Today was such a random day weather wise though. We had everything from hail to rain to sunshine and snow of course. I hope the thermometer will soon show a rise in temperature! And because it doesn’t at the moment I’ve decided to share a video which will get me right into summer mood:

‘Vamonos’ by Garcia was a massive success in Enrico’s Hitlist back in 1996 and ultimately became song of the year end charts! And yes, I always had a fascination for music charts, rankings, stats etc. and produced my very own rankings way before I officially started ‘releasing’ my official Hitlist in 2001. I hope you’re impressed now, even if it’s just a tiny bit.

I am also proud to welcome the latest three viewing countries on board of this website: the Russian Federation, Turkey and Japan! It does look quite impressive, when almighty Russia is suddenly covered and successfully ticked off on the world map! Next big country currently missing now is Brazil. Maybe in the near future a South American song will appear in my Top 20?! Well now that we have a pope from Argentina I am pretty sure more news will come our way from this fascinating region/continent! I shall keep you posted about that of course! Oh and if you have any comments or song suggestions please feel free to leave them on here (underneath this article) as it is really much appreciated!

Another social media medium I am trying to currently develop my skills in is Twitter. For some reason I can’t seem to get the hang out of it and so far @ehcharts has merely 45 followers. I mean I’ve got more followers on Instagram and there I just post pictures of me! I probably should post some more of those half naked pictures on twitter? Is that the secret? I could seriously do with some help  in how to use Twitter properly! Again please feel free to comment on this article (still underneath) if you have any input about this, or feel free to email me: ehcharts@icloud.com

Since we have Eurovision ‘Fever’ at the moment and at least that temperature is rising at this stage, here is a little looking back to a song which has entered Enrico’s Hitlist on the 13th of March back in 2001! In 2000 Ines represented Estonia with ‘Once In A Lifetime’ at the Song Contest in Swedens capital Stockholm. Since her first appearance in my charts she managed to stay 10 weeks in the Top 20 whilst scoring 74 points which means All Time rank Number 643. A pretty tune which is kind of country themed (the currently dominating music theme in my charts) and should have done better than it actually did (and the polls pre contest suggested), but that is only my opinion.

Okay last one for this evening is a song which entered my charts on the 14th of March in 2005. It shot up straight to number 1 in its first week of appearance. Since then ‘Open Your Heart’ by M People spent 44 weeks in my Hitlist, became M People’s 2nd most successful hit (behind ‘One Night In Heaven’) and is currently ranked Number 25 in the All Time list with a staggering 668 points in total!

1 204 Hayden Panettiere Telescope 8

As promised, you can now see the current Top 10 of 2013 after the first 12 weeks into the year. I guess most of you ‘feared’ that Hayden Panettiere would be at Number 1 with her country-pop smash hit ‘Telescope’. Apart from that there are some pretty tight fights on the other ranks. For example only two points separation between Lindi Ortegas ‘The Day You Die’ on 6th and Glee’s ‘Some Nights’ on 4th position. But the year is still young and things certainly will change. Given the run of currently ‘Mamma Mia’ (another fabulous Glee cover) there might be a new Number 1 Hit by the end of the week.

To finish off todays brief and kind of out of order update I still like to share a previous chart entry. Trust me, it’s so much fun to find out what has entered in previous years! On the 25th of March in 2002, Celine Dion – who is currently represented in the Top 20 with french pop single ‘Priere Paenne’ – managed to sneak into Enrico’s Hitlist for four weeks in total with her otherwise famous ballad ‘Because You Loved Me’. Having seen this video for the very first time I had to dig into the archives to find out it was used for the movie ‘Up Close & Personal’ which I did not know. Anyway – in its four weeks chart appearance Celine has collected 25 points which ranks her at position 1173 in the All Time Charts. Happy Monday everyone!

Even I am still surprised at this week’s new Number 1. It never happened before that a song which has previously been in Enrico’s Hitlist, made a come-back and re-entered at the top position! Venezuelan Carlos Baute enjoyed a week of ‘success’ with ‘Loquitos De Amor’ in October 2011, however only scored 5 points back then! He will certainly make a big jump from current position 1693 in the All Time ranks by ousting Icona Pop & Charli XCX’s single ‘I Love It’ which has fallen to Number 2! It was one of those songs I just couldn’t get out of my head this week! Will be interesting to see how this latin pop tune will do next week!!

Surely you remember me talking about my Olympic Games knowledge a few days ago in my article ‘Different’?! As most of you might have noticed Tina Arena made a surprise comeback – like Carlos Baute did – with her song ‘The Flame’ which was featured at the Sydney Olympic Games Opening Ceremony in 2000! Funny enough as much as liked the song in 2000, it only managed to make an appearance for four weeks back in November 2003. I like how the stadium speakers announce her and could listen to it over and over again!

Other than that ‘Dreams’ – the comeback in last weeks Top 20 – by the Cranberries already dropped out again, as did Emeli Sande’s ‘Next To Me’ whilst other songs such as ‘In The Palm Of Your Hand’ by Alison Krauss & ‘Marley’s Chain’s’ by Honey Rider managed to hang on for another week.

The third comeback of the week I’d like to share with you is from the Glee Cast. ‘Hell To The Know’ enters again at position 15 whilst ‘Mamma Mia’, ‘Anything Could Happen’ & ‘Old Time Rock & Roll / Danger Zone’ only knew one direction this week: down which leads me to a new entry by British teen sensation band One Direction who are celebrating a new entry with ‘They Don’t Know About Us’ at Number 16. ‘Hell To The No’ is a so called original song and was not – like most of the songs in this hit US TV-show – a cover. It went on to become their 3rd best single after being a massive hit in the Top 20 in 2011!  Six weeks Number 1, 29 weeks in Enrico’s Hitlist and 619 total points just shows you how much I enjoy this awesome pop tune!! And I’m pretty certain, that once you have listened to the song you all gonna sing along and say hell to the no – hands down!

I promise there will be more next time!!

My holiday month has finally arrived and in less than three weeks I shall be setting off to my little tour across the United States of America. Me being excited is probably an understatement. I am glad, that all the travel has been finalised and the cities I am going to see are New York City/New York, Chicago/Illinois, Los Angeles & San Francisco/California and Seattle/Washington! I am so desperate for a proper vacation and it is certainly well deserved and about time.

Biggest test for me however will be if my commitment & determination towards this website will remain whilst I am travelling from coast to coast! Not many people know this, but I had a similar project on the run in 2011 where I started blogging about my weekly Top 20, but once I went on holidays only a few weeks into that year I forgot to update the site and never got around to update it again. It actually is still left in the state back from February that year. Fingers crossed that won’t happen again!

And without further fuss I am now looking back into Enrico’s Hitlist around this time of the year and see what new songs the month of May had in store!

On the 1st of May 2006 – whilst I was living and having fun  in sunny Sydney/Australia – a Eurovision song made its debut at Number 1 to became Denmark’s most successful entry in my charts! Sidsel Ben Semmane’s ‘Twist Of Love’ certainly left a lot of love, as she retained the top spot for two weeks in a row. This oldie like song stayed in the Top 20 for 19 weeks whilst scoring 359 points for the smallest Scandinavian country giving it rank 79 in the All Time list! It must have been a Eurovision discovery week back those 7 years ago, because 8(!) new songs all related to one of the biggest yearly TV shows made their first appearance in Enrico’s Hitlist!

The Glee Cast had a minor impact on the 2nd of May 2011 with their brilliant cover version of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Go Your Own Way’! I love how Lea Michele aka Rachel Berry says ‘Hit It’ and therefore I’d like to share this little video sequence with you. If your impatient – skip to 18 seconds and enjoy it from there!! I am saying minor impact, as contrary to the Danish Eurovision entry from above this song only remained 6 weeks in the charts. Up until today it has scored 88 points which equals rank 561 in the All Time Charts!

Oh and who doesn’t remember Lipps Inc. with their 80′s smash hit ‘Funkytown’?!  I’d like to share this little treasure with you, which entered Enrico’s Hitlist on the 30th April in 2001 as we farewell this years one! It spent the same amount of time as ‘Go Your Own Way’ by the Glee Cast however it did manage to score 7 points more and therefore the slightly better position 515 in the overall rankings. ‘Funkytown’ is often considered to be one of disco’s last stands and it was Lipps Inc’s only U.S. Top 40 hit.

I really start enjoying these weekly reviews of previous chart entries! It usually brings back some good memories or if it’s a sad song some not so good ones. I am certainly getting excited though for my holiday which will begin next week! Yes I know, it is still 9 days away but I can recall me desperately counting down a couple of months ago and suddenly it is literally just around the corner. In a few weeks time I also shall reveal how songs actually do enter Enrico’s Hitlist. So stay tuned!

And I’m starting again with a song which won the Eurovision Song Contest back in 1986. On the 8th of May 2006 (and therefore almost 20 years after it’s original release/appearance) ‘J’Aime La Vie’ by Sandra Kim enters Enrico’s Hitlist. She has spent 12 weeks in the Top 20 and scored 101 points in total, which gives her rank 487 in the All Time Charts. The song made a re-entry back in 2011, after the following video was released. I think it’s actually brilliant to see young Kim next to the current one 25 years later. Did you know that back in 1986 Kim was only 13 years old and the youngest ever Eurovision winner. And current rules require Eurovision Song Contest participants to be at least 16, so unless the rule is changed Kim’s record will never be broken.

For the next song we have to go back a bit further in time. ‘Overload’ became the Sugababes’ first success not just in Enrico’s Hitlist. It was the UK Girl groups first international chart placing. On the 7th of May in 2001 it entered the Top 20 and remained there for 13 consecutive weeks. It occupies rank 277 in the All Time Rankings with the 161 points it has so far accumulated! I totally forgot about this video too which is a bit Atomic Kitten like! And oh my god how this group has transformed itself and none of it’s original members are part of it anymore! Crazy eh?!

Whitney Houston had a minor hit in Enrico’s Top 20 in 2004 with ‘How Will I Know’, which entered on the 10th of May that year. Originally released in 1985 it was a commercially world wide success for the American recording artist and multiple Grammy Award winner! However it only survived 4 weeks in my charts with just 39 points, which means it merely makes it into the All Time Top 1000 at current position 949! Who would have guess that this song initially was meant to be sung by Janet Jackson who passed on it! I bet she regretted it as soon it became such a big hit!

And I have a fourth song I’d like to share with you this evening! ABBA’s most successful song in Enrico’s Hitlist is ‘Knowing Me, Knowing You’ and not ‘Mamma Mia!’, ‘Fernando’, ‘Dancing Queen’, ‘Waterloo’ etc. like most of you might have thought! It entered the Top 20 on the 11th of February in 2002 and is the highest ranking song in the All Time Charts without having reached the Number 1 spot! It has spent a staggering 64 weeks in the charts so far and is currently ranked Number 18 with 775 points! Not that I wish back winter weather anytime soon (and the weather has been great recently!), but it is a wonderful video given that it was recorded back in 1976! A truly timeless song I can listen over and over again!

Well, what can I say?! Yes I know it’s late (again) but hey ho (or should I say ‘Ho Hey’?!) there is a new Number 1 in the house! And it’s the second number 1 Hit for Nashville Star Hayden Panettiere with her latest single ‘Hypnotizing’ which is featured in the amazing US TV show ‘Nashville’! A very captivating tune which caught my attention a while ago and finally it is out there!! I’ve tried to just insert a media file so you could listen to the song, however my technical abilities are limited this late at night so I gave up (for now!) and you have to stare at the gorgeous Hayden Panettiere whilst hopefully enjoying the latest Number 1 in Enrico’s Hitlist, as it is kind of hypnotizing!

Another noteworthy new appearance happens to be from James Morrison with ‘I Won’t Let You Go’ which makes a debut at Number 7! I don’t know how I missed this song when it was released like two years ago. Ah well, better late then never right?! OK I admit it, I came across this beautiful song last night watching ‘The Voice’ and of course I had to get the original version!! You see, Enrico’s Hitlist is always up for surprises and like on this weeks charts open for very late entries!!!

Another video I’d like to share this week is referring to a re-entry on position 12 this week. 4 years ago ‘As I Lay Me Down’ by Sophie B. Hawkins was last seen in Enrico’s Hitlist! This song helped me this week staying calm and going through my studies (which I’m sweating over right now, because my first exam is less than a month away). It is possibly my going to sleep song this evening! Very fitting lyrics eh?!

Hey there! I know I’m a day late (more or less) but what can I say? I am still on holiday indulging the US west coast – currently in San Francisco enjoying some wine and an amazing city! However I am taking this brief moment to present you the latest top 20 of Enrico’s Hitlist!

As you can see, Russian Eurovision Entry Dina Garipova remains solid on Number 1 for a second week in a row, and Eurovision is still dominant in this weeks charts. However Rank 2 and 3 sees two new entries maybe fighting for the top position next week?! Who knows! Robin Thicke with ‘Blurred Lines’ was actually a very last minute entry so his chances are good. That’s all I’m saying right now!

And after a day trip to Napa Valley yesterday with a group of 12, the following re-entry by UK boy group sensation One Direction made a re-entry on rank 11 this week! I just realised that this video has been watched on YouTube over 380 million times! Incredible and it sure was a memorable day out as well!!! It is a quite catchy song to sing along to! See you next week. It might be a day late again, as it all depends on my travelling schedule back to London from this wonderful vacation I’m thoroughly enjoying! Pictures to follow!

The last week on the US west coast certainly had an impact on Enrico’s Hitlist as ‘new’ songs appear in the top half of the latest Top 20. I am currently in New York City, where my magnificent journey began over two weeks ago. It feels like it has been longer because I was able to see so much. It will take some time to process it all (and the over 1.000 pictures)!

We also have a new Number 1 by One Republic! ‘Feel Again’ is this years 12th Number 1 hit and looks like it’s going to be this years tune for the summer.

Rod Stewart is the second highest entry at position Number 4 with ‘She Makes Me Happy’ Great tune which also has potential to be a summer song in 2013! Watch, listen and judge for yourself. Anyway I better make a move so I can head back to London and get back to normality! The midweek updates will be back soon as well!!!

And another week has gone by! One Republic is remaining on top of Enrico’s Hitlist for a 3rd week in a row now with their smash hit ‘Feel Again’! Even though summer hasn’t really arrived (I’m still optimistic it will) over here in the UK, this song somehow manages to put me into the mood for the beach!

Rank 2 and 3 also remain unchanged with Russia’s Dina Garipova gaining more points to potentially become Enrico’s Eurovision Song of 2013! However in case you haven’t noticed Spanish group ESDM manages to gain another 4 positions again with their song ‘Contigo Hasta El Final’ now in it’s 14th consecutive week in the charts!

I would like to introduce you to the newest entries though! Both are connected to Pitbull!!! ‘Shake Senora’ – a cooperation with T-Pain enters at Number 5 and ‘Live It Up’ – another joint venture with Jennifer Lopez enters at Number 10 respectively. Sadly Shake Senora is not a proper video – but the song will make up for it I promise!!! Most of you hopefully will recognise similarities to ‘Jump In The Line’ from Harry Belafonte. For those who don’t know it have a look at the video which was done for the movie Beetlejuice back in 1988! By the way – this original song has been in Enrico’s Hitlist and is currently ranked at All Time position 386 having scored 125 points in total during its 10 weeks chart appearance. I wonder if Pitbull will be able to  match that

I owe you yet another apology because tonights entry is quite late and short. This is due to the fact that I’m extremely tired and literally just got home from a long weekend in Germany. Unfortunately I didn’t have the luxury of any WI-FI at one of the airports I’ve been to today so I couldn’t update you guys with the latest Top 20 any earlier on. But the list itself explains everything so I will just leave you with that and the highest new entry this week by a group called Best Coast and their single ‘The Only Place’ Have a great start into the week and keep listening to music !!!

The first half of 2013 is over and it looks as One Republic with ‘Feel Again’ and Dina Garipova with ‘What If’ are continuing to dominate the Top 2 positions going into the second half of this fabulous year! Whereas ‘I Love It’ by Swedish Duo Icona Pop & Charli XCX manages to claim the Number One Spot in the UK Top 40 they are slowly loosing their ‘vibe’ and are not in the Top 5 anymore.

I however managed to ‘catch up’ on a Bryan Adams song called ‘Here I Am’ which gives the Canadian singer his highest debut in Enrico’s Hitlist so far entering at Number 3 this week. But as one of my mottos this weekend was – better late then never! Actually quite fitting, since it’s Canada Day tomorrow!!! Hope you’re enjoying the lovely weather, the new song and this weeks Top 20! Thanks for following me and my charts for the past six months! Means a lot!

What a week this has been and especially what a glorious weekend ultimately finishing with Andy Murray giving Great Britain an amazing win at Wimbledon! He was the first winner since Fred Perry back in 1936. An incredible tournament to which I got soaked into latest when German Sabine Lisicki stormed to victory over Serena Williams in her 4th round match! I’ve not been this tennis ‘fanatic’ since Steffi Graf won her grand slam match against Martina Hingis back in 1999 at the French Open in Paris!! An amazing final today with a well deserved win for Andy Murray over the Serbian player Novak Djokovic who was probably a bit exhausted from his incredible semi-final match against Argentinian Juan Del Potro!

It was also a glorious sunny and hot weekend over here and One Republic is holding on tight to the Number 1 spot for a sixth consecutive week with ‘Feel Again’ still giving me the ultimate summer feeling of 2013! Quite a few new entries as well in this dramatic week gone, including Andy Shauf and his ‘You Remind Me’ debuting at number 2 and sending Russian Dina Garipova’s ‘What If’ down a place to Number 3!

I would like to however share the second highest entry this week a song called ‘So Good To Me’ by Chris Malinchak. It is a perfect song to chill out, have a glass of wine on the balcony and let your mind just wander around beautiful memories you’ve collected over the past few days. Yep that’s exactly what I’m going to do now! Just listen to it and you will more likely agree with me!

Interesting fact about the group Kodaline is that they replaced another minor entry in Enrico’s Hitlist by a new song called ‘Love Like This’ which – at number 8 – is their highest placed position so far! Great song and cool video don’t you think?!

Summer continues in Britain and at the same time One Republic is holding on to the Number 1 spot for another week. This time their summer hit ‘Feel Again’ is fighting off an attack of Chris Malinchak’s chill out tune ‘So Good To Me’. The question of who’s dethroning One Republic shall remain.

Avicii has a new entry on Number 4 this week and a lot of potential is certainly there for ‘Wake Me Up’, which has had multiple appearances in numerous charts worldwide! Interesting lyrics video as well. Couldn’t find a better one – sorry guys!

Other than that there were only minor chart movements with a few songs falling one or two spots and another few ones gaining a few positions. Notable gain for Spanish Eurovision Entry ESDM and their song ‘Contigo Hasta El Final’ in the charts for an incredible 18 weeks in a row! Not bad!

However most of you probably heard of the sudden death of Glee Star Corey Monteith. Most of you probably already sensed as well that I do like Glee songs – recent re-entry of ‘Mamma Mia’ is just one example! And because I had the joy of reliving some Glee episodes ‘Don’t Go Breaking My Heart’ made a last minute re-appearance on position Number 18. R.I.P. Corey Monteith
